Condition Assessment Techniques for Transformers and Reactors
摘要
Power transformers and reactors are critical components of many infrastructure systems, requiring proper maintenance and management to ensure their reliable performance. Condition assessment is an important part of that process, providing engineers and managers with the information they need to prioritise maintenance activities. This chapter offers an overview of various techniques for assessing the condition of the different components of transformers and reactors. This chapter covers the activities that can be performed through periodic inspections, including both in-service and out-of-service scenarios, as well as visual, basic, and advanced testing. This chapter includes a detailed description of the different methods of combining condition assessment data into useful assessment indices. It includes a detailed description on scoring different failure modes, missing data and how to deal with uncertainty. By understanding the various failure modes of power transformers and reactors, and how to assess their condition, engineers and managers can make informed decisions about operations, repairs, refurbishments, and replacements, ensuring the reliable performance of their assets.
