摘要

This chapter presents a condensed summary of the existing body of knowledge on assessment and treatment of trauma-related disorders in children and adolescents. Based on the currently available evidence, we delineate and expound upon the fundamental components that constitute effective trauma-focussed psychotherapy in this age. The elaboration of these components aims to offer a practical guide for practitioners and researchers alike, fostering a deeper understanding of the intricate dynamics involved in the treatment of mental health consequences of trauma exposure in young individuals. The chapter ends with an overlook of current shortcomings of research and an outlook into future tasks and challenges. In doing so, this chapter aims to not only serve as a compendium of current knowledge but also as a catalyst for continued advancements in the assessment and treatment of trauma-related disorders in children and adolescents.
