In terms of methodology, the research utilized a combination of questionnaire surveys and interviews to delve deeply into disaster managementDisaster management processes, such as coordinationCoordination and information managementInformation management, aiming to pinpoint areas of improvement and challenges. A substantial aspect of the research methodology comprised qualitative methods. These qualitative approaches encompassed various data collection techniques, including field visits, interviews, observations, document analysis, and examination of visual records. The study showed that district administration encountered significant difficulties in evacuating fishermen, constituting a major challenge. Subsequently, assessing damages and implementing relief measures posed another major hurdle for the district administration. The study will be useful in disaster risk reduction course and particularly for administrators, planners, practitioners, and other relevant stakeholders.
