Retinoblsatoma: Emerging Surgical Techniques

Retinoblastoma is the most common intraocular malignant tumor in children. Management of retinoblastoma is individualized, with the main goals being to save the patient’s life and to preserve useful vision. Therapeutic options for retinoblastoma have rapidly evolved in recent years. With the application of the mini-incision technology in vitrectomy and the good efficacy of melphalan in the vitreous, pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) has emerged as a potential therapy and has been popular in many centers in China.
