Introduction

In the chapter, we first review Parkinson’s disease (PD) with its motor and non-motor manifestations. We then introduce the reader to the gut manifestations of the disease (gut PD) distinguishing into structural and functional ones. We then overview the effects of the disease on the various organs of the digestive tract and outline how, based on this information, we can structure a patient-centered approach to management.
