The rise of British porcelain manufactories (excluding Fulham which has been considered in Chap. 14) chronologically with the mainland European manufactories, and growth of early English porcelains from Pomona, Bovey Tracey, Bow, Chelsea, Limehouse and Vauxhall in the 1740s to Derby, Worcester in the 1750s and afterwards. The information derived from analytical science of early English porcelains and the need to re-adjust the concept of an inheritance of production stemming from continental Europe. Also, a brief description of Welsh, Scottish and Irish porcelains and ceramics is given.
