As patient involvement and shared decision-making in sarcoma treatment have gained recognition in recent years, methods to identify risks, benefits, and possible consequences of a certain surgical sarcoma treatment have been further developed. This chapter discusses properties that need to be included in a test measuring functional outcome after sarcoma surgery to obtain an accurate picture of a specific treatment. Available assessment instruments in terms of patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) and objective measurement tests are also described.
