Technological innovations are pivotal in the fight against air pollution, offering sustainable solutions that mitigate emissions and promote air quality management. This chapter explores various advancements, including clean energy solutions, sustainable transportation, pollution control technologies, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Clean energy innovations, such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, and geothermal power, alongside advancements in energy storage technologies, enable a shift away from fossil fuels. Sustainable transportation, featuring electric vehicles and multimodal transport systems, offers alternatives to high-emission modes. Pollution control technologies like electrostatic precipitators, scrubbers, catalytic converters, and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) play critical roles in reducing harmful emissions. Additionally, AI and IoT-driven smart monitoring systems provide real-time air quality management. These innovations, collectively, form a robust framework for combating air pollution and advancing towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.
