摘要

A multilevel inverter is a highly favored solution for applications requiring medium voltages and high power, proving effective integration in a range of industrial settings. Among the array of five-level inverters, the Five-level Active Neutral Point Clamped inverter (5L-ANPC) has emerged as a particularly popular topology. Design and simulation of a five-level ANPC inverter are discussed in this paper. Through the implementation of this topology, the system demands only a single DC voltage source and six active semiconductor switches. This configuration brings about a notable reduction in system dimensions, weight, and overall cost. In order to preserve the balance of the Flying Capacitor (FC), a modulation strategy is implemented, utilizing a control method based on switching state redundancy. However, the assessment indicates that the proposed structure is well-suited for a variety of power conversion applications. Simulation results are showcased to exemplify the viability of both the proposed topology and control method.
