This paper presents an in-depth review of Extended Reality (XR) in STEM education, underlining its critical role in shaping the future industrial workforce. By methodically analyzing scholarly articles, we identify and categorize key challenges in XR integration, including technical difficulties, educational alignment, accessibility issues, and ethical considerations. Our analysis reveals significant advancements in technical and pedagogical aspects, enhancing interactive and immersive learning experiences in STEM fields. However, we also identify persistent challenges, notably in cost reduction, wider accessibility, and seamless curriculum integration.
