Planning in Total Elbow Arthroplasty
摘要
Total elbow arthroplasty (TEA) is a complex procedure indicated for end-stage arthritis, chronic inflammatory arthropathies with instability and deformation, and complex distal humerus fractures. Patient selection is critical, and high postoperative compliance is essential to reduce the risk of major complications such as infection and implant loosening. TEA implants can be linked or unlinked, with semi-constrained linked implants being the most common due to their balance of stability and reduced risk of loosening. Preoperative planning with CT scans is essential for accurate implant positioning and selection. Surgical approaches focus on preserving triceps function, while careful ligament integrity and bone stock assessment is crucial for successful outcomes.
