摘要

Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) is a widely used surgical procedure for both elective surgery and fracture treatment. This procedure modifies shoulder biomechanics to allow the shoulder active movement without the rotator cuff’s action. The procedure involves reversing the shoulder joint’s normal concavity and convexity, allowing the deltoid muscle to generate movement effectively. Glenoid bone defects are classified using several systems, with the Walch classification being significant. Preoperative planning with CT scans is nowadays crucial, employing different software to achieve optimal component positioning. Technological advances like navigated procedures and mixed reality are enhancing surgical accuracy and outcomes.
