Planning in Resurfacing (Stemless) Shoulder Arthroplasty
摘要
This chapter discusses the benefits and techniques of stemless shoulder arthroplasty. This approach focuses on metaphyseal fixation without the need for cementation. This design prevents complications associated with stemmed designs, such as fractures during intramedullary preparation. Clinical outcomes for stemless designs are comparable to those for stemmed designs in short- to medium-term follow-ups. Preoperative evaluation with 3D CT imaging and digital templating is crucial for accurate component sizing and positioning, potentially reducing the risk of implant failure. Not many long-term randomized trials have been published and many more are needed to conclusively establish the superiority of stemless over stemmed shoulder arthroplasty.
