Knee osteotomies are surgical procedures aimed at correcting varus or valgus deformities. Key points during patient’s surgical preparation include the use of spinal or general anesthesia, and the application of a tourniquet to minimize bleeding. The patient is positioned supine on the operating table. Intraoperative fluoroscopy is crucial, requiring a radiology technician’s presence. Proper positioning aids in accurate imaging, with the nonoperative leg lowered and the operative leg potentially raised on a foam bump. Preoperative planning is crucial and the availability of specific surgical instruments is mandatory.
