Patient Position and General Setting in Shoulder Arthroplasty
摘要
This chapter provides a comprehensive guide to the optimal setup for performing shoulder arthroplasty. Proper patient positioning is crucial, particularly the beach chair position is suggested to ensure effective exposure of the humeral and glenoid areas. Anesthesia considerations are also important, especially the benefits of regional anesthesia combined with sedation in preventing complications such as cerebral hypoperfusion. Additionally, in this chapter, the layout and organization of the operating room, including the positioning of surgical instruments and the surgical team, is described.
