摘要

The previous chapter ended with a discussion of Bergson’s death during the Second World War. As noted in the introduction, Bergson had by that time already experienced a steep decline in his popularity. This decline was heightened by what many thought was a confirmation of his irrationality with the publication of The Two Sources. However, a Bergsonian revival commenced with Deleuze’s work on Bergson within French-speaking circles, and over the last few decades has extended to those within an English-speaking context.
