Decolonising Children and Young People’s Participation Through Child-Led Research
摘要
Chapter 8 explores how children and young people contest traditional views around knowledge generation. These have mostly been influenced by Western values, patriarchal models and protectionist approaches and very often exclude children and young people. The chapter discusses the emergence of child-led research as an avenue for children and young people’s participation and also as a methodology for producing relevant and valid knowledge. The chapter explores how and why young researchers engaged in research projects, before reflecting on how effectively their findings were used as part of advocacy initiatives.
