Identity-Based Child-Led Activism in Uganda and Brazil

  • Patricio Cuevas-Parra

摘要

Chapter 6 presents examples of identity-based child-led activism carried out by children and people in Uganda and Brazil. It discusses the strategies used by children and young people activists to contest inequalities based on their personal experiences of injustice and power disparity and the ways in which their activism connected to their social identities. In both case studies, the chapter highlights how children and young people used their own social identities to challenge inequalities and systems of domination and to build their own political voices, despite being often overlooked within traditional participation structures.
