Purpose: This study investigates the transformative potential of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), particularly Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), in the FinTech sector. It explores GAI’s impact on fraud detection, personalized financial advising, and predictive analytics, offering insights into how this technology is revolutionizing traditional financial paradigms. Design/Methodology/Approach: Using a conceptual framework, this research examines the integration of GAI techniques within FinTech applications. It analyzes GAI’s ability to enhance fraud detection accuracy through synthetic data generation, provide tailored financial advice based on individual needs, and improve predictive analytics for risk management and investment strategies. Findings: The study reveals that GAI significantly enhances fraud detection by simulating novel fraud patterns, allowing for proactive identification of threats. It transforms personalized financial advising by leveraging vast datasets to craft individualized financial plans. Furthermore, GAI improves the scope and accuracy of predictive analytics by generating synthetic market data to forecast trends and manage risks more effectively. However, ethical, regulatory, and transparency challenges remain, requiring concerted efforts to ensure responsible implementation. Research Implications: This study advances academic understanding by bridging the research gap in GAI’s application to FinTech. It highlights the limitations of traditional AI approaches and demonstrates the superior adaptability and scalability of GAI in addressing complex financial challenges. The findings provide a foundation for future research on hybrid GAI models, cross-sectoral applications, and frameworks for mitigating ethical and regulatory issues. Originality/Value: By providing a comprehensive examination of GAI’s role in FinTech, this study highlights its potential to reshape the financial ecosystem. It underscores the need for a balance between innovation and responsibility, paving the way for long-term growth, innovation, and societal impact.
