Through a systematic review of the literature on the concepts of Biophilia and Biophilic Design, this article aims to identify the state of the art of research on these topics in the Latin-Mediterranean context. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) protocols were used for the selection of the literature to be reviewed. Four main research questions were formulated for the analysis: (1) What are the trends in scientific production in the Region over time based on the number of annual publications? (2) How is the co-occurrence network of important terms extracted from the specific literature, and how do they vary annually within the Region? (3) From where, within the Region, are the insights being produced? And (4) Which Funding Sponsors are providing the economic stimuli for research on Biophilic Design in the Region? The article includes the visualization of these aspects through diagrams made with VOSviewer that allow the reader to construct his or her own reflections to establish a debate on the state of the art of the subject.
