Pathologic Perspectives on Prognosis in Soft Tissue Sarcoma
摘要
Sarcomas, a diverse group of malignant neoplasms originating from connective tissues, include over 70 recognized subtypes. Although sarcomas constitute a smaller proportion of cancers in adults, they are notably more prevalent among children. This manuscript delves into the complexity of soft tissue sarcoma and the challenges in predicting prognosis, especially for rare subtypes with limited historical data. It examines prognostic factors for selected sarcomas, highlighting the variability within subtypes and the crucial role of pathologists in characterizing tumors and predicting outcomes at the individual patient level.
