This article explores the transformative potentials of biomimicry and biophilia in advancing sustainable land planning practices. Biomimicry draws inspiration from nature’s solutions to address design and engineering challenges, while biophilia emphasizes the innate human connection with nature. Existing integration models do not address process steps for achieving environmental sustainability through the integration of design elements. The current study partially fills this gap by proposing a complementary high-level process model for achieving sustainability through design integration. It aims to explore and explicate high-level enablers through the integration of design elements by for achieving sustainability. The research methodology of the study is semi-systematic review focusing on five related areas that constitute five pillars of the proposed process model. The contribution of the study to academic community is a synthesized theoretical process model for achieving sustainability through integration of design elements.
