Gesture interaction is an important topic in the field of human-computer interaction of electric vehicles, which can reduce the driver's cognitive load and distraction, and improve the safety and experience of driving. However, the current gesture design lacks norms and guidelines, and different people in different regions or backgrounds have different gesture cognition for the same function. Therefore, this paper puts forward usability evaluation index, introduces user participatory design method, combined with gesture recognition technology, and finally defines a group of car gestures with high usability and high user satisfaction. The study also emphasis that it is important to involve users in the design process.
