Peering into the Algorithmic Cosmos: A Narrative Game for Demystifying Privacy Data Circulation
摘要
As user behavior on social networking platforms increases, concerns about privacy data exposure grow due to dense public network information. Users struggle to understand the flow of their personal information and face unclear regulations and algorithmic usage of their data. This study proposes a game, ‘Wormhole Whisper’ to explore and explain privacy exposure, the issues with users, operators, and algorithms, and to make these concepts more accessible. By visualizing data flow as a journey through a ‘wormhole’ or ‘black box’, the game uses an interactive narrative to help users intuitively understand how their data is transmitted. It aims to deepen user awareness of data flow, privacy boundaries, and the need for transparency, highlighting the potential of games to address social issues.
