Undergraduate students who need to understand metabolic pathways to apply it in their professional field, usually choose to learn them by heart. However, not achieving a meaningful knowledge of the system could lead to failure and frustration. That is why it is important to have educational materials in this area, but even more important to have it accessible to all learners, regardless of whether they have a disability or not. With the goal of making metabolic pathways concepts, and specifically the Krebs cycle, accessible for all users, our team of experts in chemistry, education, design and engineering joined efforts to create a novel educational product that can be used in Biochemistry classroom. This product was conceived applying the principles of universal design, so it can be used by blind and visually impaired learners or sighted students, helping the generation of inclusive teaching spaces. This work describes the whole creative process, the considerations for their design, the technologies used, and the novel educational materials constructed.
