This article presents an exploratory study, which, using qualitative tools, sought to understand, from the users’ perspective, aspects of their work experience in immersive environments and their relationship with focus and concentration. The study involved ten participants with an intermediate level of familiarity with Head Mounted Devices, who were recruited for the study and were structured in two phases. In the second phase, we carried out an experiment simulating a work environment, with which all participants were familiar. A controlled experiment methodology was applied (Gil 2017), dividing the volunteers into two groups made up of five participants: a Control Group and an Experimental Group. The results revealed important user perspectives on focus, concentration and productivity, demonstrating that this aspect is not related to the quality of the environment, but rather to daily rituals that help users build an environment of focus, such as screen layout at the workstation, customizing and adding objects to the desktop.
