How can we redesign the virtual concert experience in Metaverse? Rhythmic Galaxy is an innovative VR music game designed to transcend the boundaries of traditional musical performances, offering a unique and inclusive music experience. Through co-design, we recognize the demand for virtual concerts and explore the innovative experiences that can arise from shifts in player identity. The significance of this design lies in empowering players, transforming the traditional roles of performer and audience into Spatial Artisans, Visual Contributors, Audio Maestros, and Behavior Shapers. By collaborating across these roles, players can engage in the creation of virtual stages, customization of music modules, and audiovisual expression. We discovered that this redistribution of control through musical performance can form a new type of Metaverse concert, expanding the significance of musical works within virtual spaces (Fig. 1).
