Rereading as Rewriting - Christiane Baroche’s Creative Review of Dangerous Liaisons

Re-reading a literary work, as well as its further analysis, studying reviews of it, is a way of immersing yourself in a topic, and through it, understanding its basic concept. Both the reader and the author become partners, and can also switch roles: readers, inspired and interested in the text, become independent creative figures who analyze and also generate their own ideas. Thus, the authors of this article tried to show that in modern studies of literary theory we may encounter the concept of “inserted review” which is formed by various methods of cognition. A striking example is the novel Winter of Beauty by Christiane Baros - a reception of the novel Dangerous Liaisons by Choderlos de Laclos. Barosh's text arose precisely from the reader's experience, the process of analysis and cognition: first there was a slow reading of the work, then a review, and only then the continuation of the novel, published as an independent literary unit. Thus, based on the example of the analysis of several novels presented in the opposition “classical work” – its reception, the authors came to a conclusion about the trajectory of the creative development of reader’s intentions through in-depth knowledge of the original text of a literary work. A literary work, as well as a review of it, becomes for the reviewer-reader an impetus for the development of artistic reflection within the framework of the concept of postmodernism about the endless mutual influence of texts on each other.
