This chapter examines the application of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and blockchain. These technologies have the potential to greatly transform different areas of food production. They can improve precision farming methods and optimize irrigation practices. They can also use predictive analytics to make better decisions and ensure transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain. They can help to adopt sustainable packaging solutions and reduce waste. We include in this chapter the concrete advantages of Industry 5.0 throughout the whole food value chain by presenting fascinating case studies and real-world examples.
