The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of technological characteristics on the adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning systems in healthcare facilities in Kenya. The study applied positivism research philosophy and descriptive cross-sectional design with target population constituted of the executives of the healthcare organizations from level 4, 5, and 6 hospitals registered in the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board based on 2021 database. A structured questionnaire that contained close-ended questions was used to collect data from the respondents. Data collected was analyzed using logistic regression analysis at a 95% confidence interval in order to examine significance of the relationships between the variables and to test the hypotheses. Analyzed data was presented using tables and figures for ease of interpretation. The results show that technological characteristics significantly influence ERP adoption among healthcare facilities in Kenya. The study recommends that health facilities should take into consideration the advantages of ERP adoption to ensure they gain greater benefits to achieve competitive advantage over competitors. The study further recommends that senior management in healthcare facilities support is extremely important if they are looking to create a competitive environment by providing the necessary resources including technical expertise and infrastructure required to adopt ERP system.
