Change is a fundamental element in all kinds of organizations that operate in today’s dynamic contexts. Change is generally described as a “constant” since it is forever present. According to the Greek Philosopher Heraclitus, “Change is the only constant.” It has to be managed strategically by leaders who consider themselves strategic for the purpose of securing the future of the organization. Today there is a general consensus that change requires strategic leadership for success to be achieved in taking the organization where it wishes to be in future. Strategic change includes all the efforts and actions required in order to move an organization from its present state towards the desired future state. Today the Christian church in Africa is facing unprecedented changes that require implementation of strategic changes in order for the church to address its mandate in changing contexts. This entry presents the key ideas of the theory of strategic change, and how strategic change can be managed by application of strategic leadership today in the Christian Church. This is examined through the lenses of the Nairobi chapel that has embraced the ideals of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Spirituality (DEIS) well. The entry is written with support from evidence provided by basic field research, case study of a modern fast growing global church that has embraced DEIS, strategic leadership, experts’ opinion, and published material. The author relied more on existing literature and to a less extent on basic primary research that involved interviews of the senior clergy of Nairobi chapel and other churches in Kenya.

摘要
