Advantage of Lower Intersectionality in South Korea’s Me-Too Movement
摘要
This entry examines the South Korean Me-Too Movement in comparison with the American Me-Too Movement, highlighting the strategic use of lower intersectionality in advancing gender equity. By analyzing high-profile figures such as prosecutor Seo Ji-Hyeon in South Korea and prominent Hollywood actresses in the United States, we argue that individuals with fewer intersecting disadvantages can serve as credible catalysts for social justice. Drawing on Aristotle’s rhetoric and Bourdieu’s concept of social capital, the entry reframes lower intersectionality not merely as an absence of compounded disadvantage but as a potential amplifier of marginalized voices.
