Perspectives on Interfaith Similarities and Pluralism for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
摘要
The chapter extends discussions of research and practice in management that can contribute to the facilitation of diversity, equity, and inclusion through the lens of spirituality in the workplace. Drawing from their Hindu and Islam religious traditions and scholarly work, the authors provide reflections on the intersection between faith and the disciplines of Organizational Behavior (OB) and Human Resource Management (HRM). It adopts an interpretive approach supported by faith related and scholarly literature and describes a set of religious concepts as understood and practiced in Hinduism and Islam not only in personal but also in organizational life. It focuses on self-awareness/emotional intelligence, motivation, equality, diversity and inclusion, and leadership from the Hinduism and Islam perspectives. Finally, it analyzes and synthesizes the twin perspectives and identifies areas for future research in organizational behavior/human resource management.
