This entry serves to offer an intersection between Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as a construct and approach, and the Imago Dei, which is the cornerstone of Christian theology. DEI is explored, establishing relationships between (a) awareness and diversity, (b) action and equity, and (c) authority and inclusion as well as its strengths in research and challenges within Freirean Philosophy, Wokeness, and Capitalism. The Imago Dei is then examined, using Kierkgaard’s theory of Imaging Nothing and Unconditional Affirmation, along with its challenges within disability, accountability, and sufficiency. Lastly, DEI and the Imago Dei are intersected with implications that broaden perspective, enhance scope, and reimagine new possibilities for decision-makers within the workplace and the church.
