A Brief Introduction to Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine in the Drug Design Context
摘要
This chapter explores the field of in silico protein analysis and its growing importance at the interface of genomics and personalized medicine. Novel computational techniques improved the understanding of different genetic alterations in the protein’s activity, interaction with other proteins, and structure. This perspective discusses the novel applications of in silico methods in vaccine research, personalized medicine, and drug design. In addition, the chapter presents possible tools for manipulating protein model data, as well as discussing the moral and legal ramifications of these advances, especially with regard to pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine.
