Silk Roads in the Tenth–Thirteenth-Century Caucasus
摘要
So far, we have covered the main transcontinental trade routes and centers of economic activity in the Caucasus in the seventh–tenth centuries. This was critical for drawing a broader picture of international trade and clarifying the role of the Caucasus amid frequently shifting connectivity across the Eurasian continent. It should be also noted that the trade routes described above were of primary importance, as they were where large financial capital flowed, cities were getting bigger and wealthier, and nomadic empires, stretching thousands of kilometers, were established in the Eurasian steppes.
