Corticobulbar Tract
摘要
The corticobulbar tract (CBT) runs from the primary motor cortex in the precentral gyrus to cranial motor nuclei in the brainstem. CBT traverses the corona radiata to the genu of the internal capsule and then descends with two components, one running anteriorly and then bending back to the cranial motor nuclei of the face, and another “aberrant” component running posteriorly from the level of the midbrain. CBT fibers synapse with the lower motor neurons of the cranial nerves, with 50% of those decussating, and the sensory nuclei of the posterior pons and medulla.
