The superior thalamic radiation (STR) connects the anterior and ventrolateral thalamus with centroparietal regions including posterior superior frontal gyrus, and precentral, postcentral, and superior parietal gyri. A large component of this radiation arises from the ventral thalamic nuclei. From the thalamus, the STR then extends superiorly within the posterior limb of the internal capsule and then fans out vertically, to terminate in the centroparietal region medial to projections from the putamen.

摘要

The superior thalamic radiation (STR) connects the anterior and ventrolateral thalamus with centroparietal regions including posterior superior frontal gyrus, and precentral, postcentral, and superior parietal gyri. A large component of this radiation arises from the ventral thalamic nuclei. From the thalamus, the STR then extends superiorly within the posterior limb of the internal capsule and then fans out vertically, to terminate in the centroparietal region medial to projections from the putamen.
