The dorsomedial subthalamic (DMSTN) projections connect the medial and dorsal frontal lobe to the subthalamic nucleus. DMSTN projections run vertically from the subthalamic nucleus entering the internal capsule, where they are medial to corticospinal projections. The DMSTN projections extend vertically to the superior frontal gyrus, keeping medial to the superior putaminal projections.
