The ventrolateral subthalamic projections (VLSTN) connect the subthalamic nucleus to the lateral inferior frontal cortex. From the subthalamic nucleus, VLSTN projections run lateral to the mammillothalamic tract, coalescing in the internal capsule, where they occupy a medial position. The VLSTN then courses lateral to the head of the caudate to the pars triangularis, pars orbitalis, and pars opercularis and lateral orbitofrontal gyrus.

摘要

The ventrolateral subthalamic projections (VLSTN) connect the subthalamic nucleus to the lateral inferior frontal cortex. From the subthalamic nucleus, VLSTN projections run lateral to the mammillothalamic tract, coalescing in the internal capsule, where they occupy a medial position. The VLSTN then courses lateral to the head of the caudate to the pars triangularis, pars orbitalis, and pars opercularis and lateral orbitofrontal gyrus.
