The dorsal cingulum (DC) connects the subgenual cingulate, anterior cingulate, and medial prefrontal cortex in the frontal lobe with the posterior cingulate, retrosplenial cortex, and precuneus in the parietal lobe. The dorsal cingulum is on the medial aspect of the cerebral hemisphere, encircling the corpus callosum from the genu anteriorly to the splenium posteriorly. The majority of the dorsal cingulum is within the cingulate gyrus, running medial to the superior longitudinal fasciculus (SLF I), and contacts the ventral cingulum at the level of the retrosplenial cortex. Posteriorly, the dorsal cingulum fans out into the precuneus superiorly, and the retrosplenial cingulate gyrus inferiorly.

摘要
