Location of Meningiomas: Demographic—Pathological and Prognostic Correlations

The location of meningiomas has long been investigated for better understanding of the etiopathogenetic basis of the tumor as well as of its biological behavior; its aim was to identify location-specific differences for therapeutic and clinical implications. In this setting, several demographics, radiological, pathological, and biomolecular peculiar features have been correlated to tumor location and have been suggested to affect the decision-making process of treatment. This chapter discusses the impact of the meningioma location on the tumor pathology and molecular biology, extent of resection, recurrence, and outcome.
