A Simulation-Based Inventory Management Approach for Divergent Multi-echelon Systems
摘要
This paper studies a multi-echelon divergent supply network common in the downstream supply chain (Diks EB, de Kok AG, Lagodimos A, Eur J Oper Res 95:241–263, 1996). It is a two-stage pull network; the first stage includes one saturated supplier manufacturing an identical product and distributing it to five retailers (the second stage of the network). The system under consideration assumes stochastic demand, stochastic transportation times, and lost sales in case of stockout. This work aims to optimize the system’s performance. The ARENA simulation software is used for modeling and studying the system.
