Increasing the Level of Energy Security of Ukraine by Reducing Import Dependence of Oil Products

This chapter examines the issue of Ukraine's energy security in the context of dependence on oil imports and waste intensity. It analyses the Sustainable Development Goals related to resource independence and waste intensity and the extent to which they have been achieved before Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Ukraine has not achieved most of these targets, especially in terms of primary energy imports and waste intensity of GDP. In the chapter was analysed the Energy Strategies of Ukraine and determined that all strategies outlined the problem of import dependence and proposed ways to solve it, such as the development of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and alternative fuels. Сonsequences of not achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in terms of resource independence during a military invasion in 2022 are described. The necessity to establish the ecologistics of collection and processing of hazardous waste into alternative fuels to solve the problems of waste intensity and resource dependence of Ukraine is outlined. Phenomenological model of alternative motor fuel production from secondary raw materials is developed.
