Mechanical Properties of Ferrock Concrete: An Experimental Study

Nowadays, the whole academic society tends to find ecological solutions to climate change issues. One of the more widely utilised substances all over the world is OPC (ordinary Portland cement), and researchers are trying to discover an alternative or substitution to this material. One of the recently discovered materials was Ferrock; it is just a blend of many by-product materials, such as iron powder, fly ash or recycled glass, limestone, metakaolin, and weak acid. The main goal of this study is to look into the mechanical characteristics of Ferrock concrete. The mechanical properties of regular and Ferrock concrete were assessed using compressive, flexural, and tensile laboratory tests. The impact of adding Ferrock as an admixture percentage on the hardening characteristics of concrete was researched. The experimental results showed that the inclusion of Ferrock increased concrete's flexural and compressive strength at the ages of 7 and 28 days, and the ideal Ferrock percentage was 15 to 20%. Furthermore, results indicated that Ferrock concrete is ductile and has considerable displacement prior to actually collapsing.
