摘要

Multidisciplinary team management is an essential component for treating immunocompromised patients with invasive pulmonary aspergillosis. Infectious disease specialists, pulmonologists, hemato-oncologists, medical microbiologists, radiologists, pathologists, clinical pharmacists, intensivists, and specialized nursing staff are integral members of the team. Clinical and diagnostic algorithms are also essential components of multidisciplinary teamwork. The written documents may facilitate a standardized approach to the patients and serve as local guidelines. While updated scientific information is included in these algorithms, the local factors including diagnostic capabilities of the given institution, fungal surveillance results, antifungal susceptibilities, and drug availability should also be provided. The sequences and timings of every diagnostic and therapeutic intervention may guide the practitioners to properly manage the patients. This chapter explores the role of teamwork in the effective management of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis, emphasizing the collaboration required among various healthcare disciplines and the significance of communication and synergy in navigating treatment complexities for achieving favorable patient outcomes.
