Microbiology of Aspergillus
摘要
Aspergillus is a widespread genus of fungi that significantly impacts various pulmonary diseases, including allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), chronic pulmonary aspergillosis (CPA), and invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA). This chapter provides an in-depth examination of the microbiology of Aspergillus, covering its taxonomy, morphology, and epidemiology, along with current diagnostic approaches and antifungal susceptibility testing. The chapter also addresses the emerging challenges of antifungal resistance, underscoring the importance of accurate species identification and susceptibility testing in the management of aspergillosis. By understanding these microbiological aspects, clinicians and researchers can improve the diagnosis, treatment, and overall management of Aspergillus-related pulmonary diseases.
