Fundamentals of an Intelligent System for Computer-Aided Design of Crop Rotations

Precision farming, based on precision production and remote sensing technologies, is one of the most important incentives for the development of agriculture. It requires a combination of a significant amount of structured information and appropriate processing technologies, considering many parameters of land resources. The central element of precision farming should be a system of scientifically based crop rotations since they determine all technological processes in the industry. Automation tools for the activities of agricultural producers and related organizations are transformed into a powerful management system that includes complex algorithms, arrays of regulatory and reference data and data of a specific subject area. A computer-aided design (CAD) system is required to create and configure such a system. The architecture of intelligent CAD for crop rotation is discussed. Software-implemented mathematical models form the basis of such a system. These models are integrated into a digital management platform that implements the tasks of agricultural production from a unified, scientifically based position.
