This conceptual inquiry aims to establish a pedagogy of resistance and a foundation for the critical delivery of anti-discriminatory education for Black children and youth. Canada is renowned as one of the world’s most multiracial, multicultural, multilingual, and diverse nations, with a long history of moral superiority in the context of racism. One demographic that has been harmed by systematic racism in Canada is Black children and youth, who are less likely to have a postsecondary diploma or degree than the rest of the population. This chapter will examine a conceptual framework and foundation for anti-discriminatory pedagogy that can further promote education as a practice of liberatory freedom through critical consciousness. Finally, it will make recommendations for educators and provide suggestions for further development of anti-discriminatory perspective grounded in African-centered learning and healing-centered engagement.

摘要
