摘要

Nutrients supply the nourishment necessary for growth and the preservation of life. It is all about eating a balanced and healthy diet. A substantial amount of research and millennial eating practices support the role of diet in maintaining human health. Various studies indicated that nutritional intake varies with demography globally. According to reports published by Global Burden of Disease, one in five global fatalities, primarily from cancer and cardiovascular disorders, could be linked to poor nutritional values. The prevalence of excess nutritional intake is present in about a third of the population. The excess nutrient intake resulting from binge eating disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and PCOS as well as reduced physical activity cause illnesses. The implications of excess nutrient intake result in altered cellular pathways and abnormal tissue remodelling which might culminate in pathophysiological conditions such as diabetes mellitus, hypercholesteremia, obesity, fatty liver and erectile dysfunction. Depending on the dose and duration, excessive micronutrient intake has a variety of negative health impacts. The upper limits of nutrient consumption are the lines that separate intake amounts that are known to be safe from those that are possibly dangerous. Thus, the preventive measures would likely follow the dose, schedule, and duration of intake along with the potency of nutrients.
